DiscovIR-LC™

The DiscovIR-LC™ is the only automated IR detection system for use with HPLC and GPC. Our unique, proprietary LC interface removes all liquid and allows acquisition of full spectra in the mid-IR range for each component without interference from the absorbance of the solvents. After desolvation, the analytes are deposited from a gas stream onto a slowly rotating and cryogenically-cooled IR-transparent disc. An infrared beam then passes through the sample film and the absorbance spectrum is collected automatically. Since the deposition occurs under high vacuum, the peaks are secure and immobilized for further analysis if desired. The system can be run alone or in parallel with LC-MS to classify or characterize chemical components from a variety of applications.
